The Flaming Feathers Mistle-Ho-Ho-Hoe-Down is a fun inter-club LGBTQ+ Badminton Tournament taking place on 29th November '25 in The Dome in Our Ladys School, Terenure

Who can enter and how much is it?
Entry is open to members of Flaming Feathers, Cork Racketeers, and select friends & allies. Christmas themed accessories are encouraged!
The cost per player is €30

Post tournament, all players are invited to join the Flaming Feathers crew at their Christmas Party in Slatterys D4 for festive food and fun. Let that Mistle-ho-ho-hoe loose!
Tournament Events
Division 10 & Beginners (Category D)
This category is for those who have been playing badminton for between 3 months and 1 year.
You should be comfortable with basic badminton footwork, have a reliable short service, and be able to use a variety of attacking shots, lifts, and net play.
This category will be limited to 10 teams. The main draw / group stage will consist of 2 round robin groups of 5 teams. The top two teams from each group will progress to an elimination stage.
Each pairing is guaranteed 4 games.
The elimination bracket will have a 1st and 2nd place awarded.
This event will use hybrid shuttlecocks
Open Doubles (Division 7 - 9)
For players who have more badminton experience, the Open Doubles Competition will provide a higher level of competition, while still allowing players of different levels to compete effectively.
This category will be limited to 24 teams. The main draw / group stage will consist of 6 round robin groups of 4 teams. The top two teams in each group will progress to a C+ elimination bracket. The bottom two teams in each group will progress to a C- elimination bracket. Every team will progress to an elimination / knockout stage.
Each pairing is guaranteed 4 games.
Each elimination bracket will have a 1st and 2nd place awarded.
This event will use feather shuttlecocks

Social Event - Flamers Christmas Party
Once you've spent the afternoon having a smashing time, put on your gladrags and come join us for the Flaming Feathers Christmas party! Your tournament entry will give you access to the event, with finger-food and free entry to the George later that night to keep the party going.
Tournament Details
Rules
- The tournament will be run as an Open Doubles competition (i.e. non-gendered)
- Partners can sign up to play together, or individual players can enter and be matched by the tournament organisers
- As this is intended as a fun tournament, partnerships will be subject to validation by tournament organisers and may be re-balanced to ensure fairness, taking into account individual player levels
- Players will use either Hybrid or Feather shuttles depending on the event entered
- Each game in the tournament shall be played as the best of 3 sets, played to 21 points (with setting to 30)
- The final date for entry or withdrawal is 14th November 2025 at 23:59. Any withdrawals after this point will not be subject to refund
- Players must ensure that they have appropriate Badminton Ireland membership - Neither Flaming Feathers nor the Dome will be liable for any injuries sustained in the course of attending or participating in this event.
- Note: In addition to regular BWF Badminton Scoring rules, in this tournament each team will gain one Flaming Shuttle per set
- If a team chooses to use their Flaming Shuttle, the next point played will be worth 3 points instead of 1 point
